Hola hola hola!
This morning we were woken by the warmth of Cierra (our leader of the day) at 6:30. For breakfast Gretel made us pancakes with the help of Charlie and Ally. Some of us finished painting the design on the ramp while others dove back into their individual projects. Dylan and Julia went on a hike to post their handmade signs, and a few of us went to see them off, since the woman they are working with has a litter of adorable kittens to play with. Some of our individual projects include more personal aspects, for example interviewing different members of Biolley. Others are more physical, like painting and hanging up signs or helping in Laura’s garden.

Surprise, parents! We are each bringing one of these lil guys home to you! (Just kidding, don’t worry)
For lunch Gretel prepared a delicious meal of breaded tilapia (or empanadas for our vegetarians), a yucca and potato mash, and a green salad. We worked on our individual projects for the rest of the afternoon. After a long but calm day of working, some of us played a game of Spit while others went on a walk.

Laura’s cherubic granddaughter, Isabella, charmed us all during her brief visit to town.
For dinner we returned to a delicious pizza. After dinner we again played more Spit. The peaceful day ended just as peacefully with a group screening of a fantastic documentary on ASOMOBI, its mission, its growth, and its culture. For example, did you know that the company Illy used to buy and distribute their coffee? The film was very well made, and even more engaging because of how well we now know many of the principal characters. We would highly recommend checking it out (it’s on Netflix: A Small Section of the World)! Altogether, a bit of anticipatory sadness aside, it was a good day.
Besos,
Mila & Savvy
