The following post features student writing.
Hola from Carlito and Julia!
Today we woke up at 6:30 and had eggs, sausages, and rice for breakfast before starting a long day of painting. We painted the ramps, the downstairs general area, and the inside of the boys’ rooms. Meanwhile, others dug holes to put plants in for the new garden.

“They paved paradise…”
For lunch we had meat patties, rice, and vegetables. We spent the remainder of the work day painting. Before the end of the work day, we drew sticks to decide who would be the lucky ones to get their laundry done in the first shift today. Unfortunately, we each drew the short stick so we will have to stretch our clean clothes for another couple days. Around 3 PM many students went down to play soccer with the locals. Just like last time, it rained the whole game and everyone was slipping everywhere! We also had the opportunity to buy snacks at the shop near the soccer field. Once the game was over and we returned to our home in ASOMOBI, everyone showered, relaxed, and prepared for dinner.

Work hard, pose harder.
For dinner we ate chicken cannelloni and rice. As the rain reached a crescendo hitting the aluminum roof overhead, we discussed our independent projects and what kinds of things we might be interested in pursuing. Then we spent a bit longer hanging out together before finally going to sleep.

Although some of us went to bed earlier than others!
Signing off,
Carlito & Julia
