Pura vida from Alex and Sophia!
It’s finally over. Today was officially our last day of sanding, but it was a long journey to get there.
We started our day with a delicious breakfast consisting of empanadas de frijoles and pan de yuca (yucca bread). After breakfast we started sanding…and spent the whole morning covered in sawdust, working on the same thing once again and sweating what felt like liters (gallons for you Americans). After four hours we had finally finished, and earned our well deserved lunch break. Laura cooked us a rice and vegetables mix accompanied by patacones (fried green plantains). She was helped by our cooks of the day Victoria and Savvy.

Boyz makin’ noise
The last two hours of work we spent applying lacquer to the thoroughly sanded wood, which was a very nice change. After work, about half of the group went to a field for a friendly game of soccer with some of the kids, family, and guests. As soon as the game had begun it started pouring rain and we got completely soaked! It was a lot of fun. We had organized the teams so that on each team the players were half from Biolley and half from Putney. The rain made the pitch extremely wet and slippery, which led to everyone falling, sliding, and simply spending most of their time on the ground. While some were playing soccer the rest stayed at Asomobi and took naps.

Putney and Biolley after a hard-fought game
After showering, which was especially necessary for the soccer kids, we had dinner, which was rice with lentil soup and tortillas. We are now about to watch a movie so we will leave you for tonight. We love you all. Talk to you tomorrow
Good night,
Alex & Sophia
